Who are the three talents of the Ming Dynasty? What kind of people can be included in the "genius" of the Ming Dynasty?

Today, the interesting history editor brought you an article about the three talents of the Ming Dynasty. Welcome to read ~

What is a genius? Is it a romantic flower, or a sentimental landscape? Is it a poem or a splash of ink?

Yes, the handsome and sad Tang Bohu in our hearts, or someone else?

Tang Bohu is of course a great talent. During the Chenghua and Zhengde years of the Ming Dynasty , Tang Bohu, Zhu Zhishan , Wen Zhengming, and Xu Yanqing from Wuzhong were well-known for their good writing and calligraphy. Later generations regarded Tang Bohu as "the first genius in Jiangnan", praised his paintings, praised his calligraphy, and talked about his anecdotes.

However, the four talents are just the titles of posterity. In the Ming Dynasty, there were no sayings of four talents, only three talents.

Moreover, even a literary talent such as Tang Bohu who is highly proficient and well-known, does not meet the criteria for being selected as the " Three Talents of the Ming Dynasty ".

The "talents" that can be included in the three talents are not simply literary talents, but erudite talents who learn to be wealthy and knowledgeable, and who are well-informed.

On behalf of the scholars of the Ming Dynasty, three talents with profound knowledge, far-reaching influence and outstanding contributions, were the loyal and devoted ministers from the period of Hongwu to Yongle, and the impeccable but resolute Yang Shen from Zhengde to Jiajing. Xu Wei's life was bumpy during the years.

Xie

Xie Xie, the word gentry, the word gentry, number Chunyu, Xiyi. The existence of Xie Xuan may be called the benchmark of the Ming Dynasty. Like many talents since ancient times, he was born in the family of scholarly scholars , and he had the title of "Prodigy" early. Born in the second year of Hongwu (1369), he won the position of Xie Yuan in the local examination in the twenty years of Hongwu (1387). The following year, he and his elder brother Jie Lun and brother-in-law Jinhua made a list of gold titles. This is the beginning of Xie Xuan's becoming a significant person in the Ming Dynasty.

In the Jinshi and the first year, Jie Xuan got Zhu Yuanzhang's blue eyes by virtue of his talents, and he was promoted from Jijishi to Hanlin. How much did Zhu Yuanzhang love Xie Xun? He once made a clear statement to Xie Xie: "Xie and Er Yi Ze, the emperor and father, son and father, know everything." This encouragement undoubtedly gave impetus to understanding Xie, and he also wrote in his words As a result, "Taiping Ten Strategies" was also presented, and its reputation in North Korea naturally erected.

But Jie Xuan's official career was not smooth. It is precisely because Zhu Yuanzhang admired him that he had stricter requirements on him, thinking that he needed more precipitation, so he sent Xie Yuan home. This period of being left out was eight years.

During these eight years, Xie Xun was unable to participate in official affairs, so he had to proofread " Yuan Shi " at home, write "Song Shu" and edit "Book of Rites" ...

But unfortunately, Xie Yuan had not reached the point where Zhu Yuanzhang was satisfied, and old Zhu died suddenly.

Immediately succeeding Emperor Ming Hui Zhu Yunzhang also listened to the letter, making Jie Xun even more difficult in politics. It wasn't until the first four years of Jianwen (1402) that Jie Xie returned to the capital with the help of the assistant minister, Lun Dong.

By the end of November, Xie Ye had become the first minister in the cabinet , proving to the world that his accumulation over the past few years was indeed effective.

How knowledgeable is Xie Ye? He became Han Lin's assistant after Zhu Xi ascended the throne, and then entered Wen Yuan Pavilion. Xie Yun is the editor-in-chief of The Record of Taizu, The Biography of Females , and even the Book of Yongle .

In the second year of Yongle (1404), after the formal establishment of the cabinet system, Xie Yuan once again took the seat of the cabinet. Being able to write about and manage things around the world, respecting and exalting is the top three scholars of the Ming Dynasty, and it is nature.

Yang Shen

And Yang Shen, at that time, called it "no book without reading." Yang Shen's words are repaired, and the first name is Yuexi, Shengye, and the other is Yishishi , Bonanshan people, Dongtianyiyi, South Yunnan Yishi, Jinmabiji veteran. He also came from Shuxiang Mendi , and was the champion of Zhengde's six years (1511), and started quite high. It was only three years after Jiajing (1524), but he was demoted to Yunnan because of the "Grand Ceremony" incident.

Yang Shen's mating is much more serious than the eight years when he was first released. He has been in the Yunnan area for more than 30 years.

For more than thirty years, Yang Shen has read all the books he can read, studied the Confucian ideas he can study, and wrote about what he wants to write.

About 2,300 poems, including countless works related to sutras, history, poems, essays, verses, rhymes, golden stones, paintings, astronomy, geography, biology, medicine, etc., this is the wealth he left to future generations.

"The first of the three talents" can only afford this name if he is erudite like Yang Shen.

Xu Wei

The last three talents, Xu Wei, have many different identities. He wrote poems, paintings and calligraphy, and operas, even in the battlefield.

Xu Wei was an aide to Hu Zongxian, an anti-capable man of the Ming Dynasty, loyal and committed suicide several times after Hu Zongxian's arrest.

After going through some hardships in his early years, he traveled to Jinling in the south and went to the valley in the north (now in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province) to see the world and study life. It was also because of Xu Wei that he had the "Pink Freehand Brushwork" school and the "Ivy School".

It was the multiple identities of writers, painters, opera artists, and military strategists that eventually gave him the honor of "one of the three great talents of the Ming Dynasty". This can be regarded as a little compensation for his rough life.

Compared with Jie Xie, Yang Shen, and Xu Wei, although Tang Bohu now has a greater reputation, in the Ming Dynasty, Tang Bohu was inferior in terms of social influence and breadth of fields involved. Therefore, under the ranking of "Guangbo", Tang Bohu failed to be among the top three talents. Moreover, all four of them are worthy of respect, so why bother to rank high or low?
