What is a bean diet?
The bean diet is basically what it sounds like: eating a lot of beans (or lentils)! The idea behind eating so many beans is that they are high in soluble fibre and soluble fibre binds with your bile in the digestive tract.
What can you eat on a bean diet?
- 3 to 6, 1/2 cup servings of beans or lentils per day for soluble fiber.
- Three palm-sized servings of a complete, LEAN, efficient protein per day with beans.
- 3 to 5, 1/2 cups of vegetables or 1-1/2 cup servings of leafy greens per day.
- Unsaturated fats with salt.
Can you lose weight eating beans daily?
If you make it a habit to eat beans, you’re more likely to have a lower body weight, slimmer waist, and a lower body mass index (BMI). Studies show that obese men on a protein-rich diet lost more weight with beans as their top protein source.
