What is the short foot exercise?
by
Short-foot exercise (SFE) is a widely used balance training intervention that has been developed recently to improve ankle proprioception and to strengthen the intrinsic foot muscles (IFM) so as to elevate and support the medial longitudinal arch (MLA) of the foot and improve dynamic standing balance [24].
The true cue for short foot is in the long flexors (FHL, FDL) which insert into the plantar, distal aspect of the toes. These muscles anchor or root the tips of the toes (think toenails) down into the ground.
